SIM Cards Registered in Your Name — Check & Report (TAFCOP)
Use the TAFCOP portal on Sanchar Saathi to see every mobile connection registered against your ID and flag any you did not take. Disowned connections are sent to the operator for re-verification and can be deactivated — important because a SIM in your name can be misused for fraud.
Under the Department of Telecommunications’ Sanchar Saathi initiative, TAFCOP lets you audit the SIMs linked to your identity across operators and disown the ones that aren’t yours. It takes a few minutes and needs only your mobile number and an OTP.
What to do now
- Open the TAFCOP portal and verify your identity with your mobile number and OTP.
- Review the list of connections registered against your ID.
- Flag any number you do not recognise as “not my number”.

Enter the OTP sent to your number to see the connections registered in your name.

Review every connection
Check each listed mobile number. Connections you took yourself are fine; look for any you never applied for.

Report what isn’t yours
Mark an unknown number as “Not my number” (or “Not required” for a disused one). It is forwarded to the operator for re-verification and possible deactivation.

Note the ticket and track
Keep the reference/ticket ID and check back on the status of your request.

How many SIMs can be registered on one ID?

What happens after I report an unknown number?
