Lost or Stolen Mobile Phone
Use the official CEIR service to block a lost or stolen handset across all Indian networks using its IMEI, after lodging a police complaint. You can track the request and unblock the device later if it is recovered.
The Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR), run by the Department of Telecommunications, lets you block a stolen handset by IMEI so it cannot be used on any Indian network — and check for any SIMs registered against your identity via TAFCOP.
What to do now
- Lodge a police complaint / FIR and keep the complaint number.
- Collect the handset IMEI (from the box, the bill, or by dialling *#06# on a paired device) and your identity details.
- Submit a block request on the official CEIR portal, then track it.
